The Birds travelled down to sunny San Diego, California this weekend to defend their leading spot in the Independent Conference.
Unfortunately, both University of California San Marcos, and Simon Fraiser University would overtake UBC, giving the birds a bronze position at the meet, and sliding down to 1oth in the rankings. We did however have three birds in the top 10, earning all conference recognition- Senior Kerry Kazuta, Senior Ben Thistlewood and, Sophomore Jordan Smith.
On happier note, the Women's team boasted one of the best races of the season, finishing third and moving up to 10th in the rankings! Maggie Woodward would go on to lead the team as a freshman and clocking sub 18 min 5km! Congratulations to Maggie.
Results will be posted later today regarding the teams and individuals who have qualified for Nationals on the NAIA website.
